Ruby refugees flocking to Python?
I just wanted to put it out there that I know at least one person who was very fired up about Ruby, only to find out that all the available Ruby jobs are for Ruby-on-Rails programmers. He doesn't like Web programming, so what was he to do? You guessed it -- he started to learn Python :-)

Or there are jobs that don't mention ruby, but can use ruby. IE system administration. Of course python is just as good in the same area.
That's my situation exactly. I could care less about web programming with RoR as a career direction. I do it because by bosses expect me to do at least some. In the meantime, I do much greater system work with Python, which I love.
Antecdotal evidence, a misleading headline makes. Thanks a bunch.
Wow! One person switches to Python. That qualifies you to use the word "flocking". Interesting.
I have a friend who wanted an iPhone, but couldn't afford it so he got a Tracfone. Guess what!! People are flocking from the iPhone to get prepaid phones.
You know _one_ developer who did it, and yet you title your post like there were hundreds of cases you had witnessed ?
Seems like someone's trying to pump his blog's stats with some sensationalist title...
Ouch,
The phrase "I could care less" grates on my British ears :-)

The phrase "I could care less" grates on my American ears as well.
